The Mission
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive online platform that connects, informs, and supports the Irish community in London, as well as those with an interest in Irish life and culture.

Through our website, social media channels, and digital magazine, we deliver engaging content, practical resources, and access to advisory services. We actively support Irish charities by offering free use of the platform to promote their services, events, and initiatives. We also champion Irish businesses, service providers, and the arts community, helping them reach and engage with a wider audience.

In addition, we are committed to assisting individuals who are new to London, helping them navigate and integrate into the city. By honouring the legacy of those who have gone before us, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting Irish enterprises, charities, the arts, and newcomers, this resource ensures that the Irish community is fully supported and empowered to thrive. We are dedicated to preserving a rich cultural heritage while embracing the future, fostering a spirit of connection, celebration, and growth. Our goal is to create a lasting impact, ensuring the Irish community remains a vibrant and integral part of London’s diverse cultural landscape.
Catherina Casey - Founder
Irish in London
Your online gateway to Irish life in London
Catherina Casey hails from Cork and relocated to London in 1988, following seven years of living and working in Southeast Asia. She settled in London permanently in 1999.
Catherina became actively involved in the Irish community in 2007, managing the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith from 2007 to 2013. She chaired the Mayor of London’s St. Patrick’s Festival Advisory Board from 2009 to 2019, ran The Ireland Funds Great Britain from 2017 to 2020, and founded Irish in London Ltd in 2021. In 2023, she was honoured with the role of Grand Marshal for the Mayor of London’s St. Patrick’s Festival and received the Freedom of the City of London in recognition of her significant contribution to the Irish community in the capital.
During her work with the community, Catherina discovered its deep roots in the city, as well as the vast array of GAA clubs, musicians, artists, authors, chefs, restaurants, pubs, community services, charities, and networks.
She realised that there was a genuine need for small Irish charities and not-for-profits to have a dedicated information and marketing platform to help them connect with the community. This platform was designed to meet that need, while also supporting businesses, service providers, and the arts community in reaching their audiences.
"I wanted to create a resource that would make it easy for anyone with an interest in Irish life, culture, and community in London to find all this information in one place. So, I taught myself how to build basic websites and created this one, which I hope will prove useful to anyone with an interest in Irish life, culture, and community. My aim is to help support, celebrate, and strengthen the Irish community in London as we move forward together."
