Barbara Stanley has over 16 years’ experience in providing an art consultancy service to private and corporate collectors. The specialist service has evolved through working with clients to help them select or procure the most appropriate artwork for private homes, business premises and corporate settings. Whether you are a first time buyer or adding to an existing collection, we are happy to visit your home or place of business to discuss your requirements.
Barbara will offer specialist advice on collectable paintings and sculptures to meet your individual needs. As part of this service you will be given the opportunity to view the artwork in situ in your own home or office to ensure you are happy with all aspects of any proposed purchase. We work with a select number of artists but if we do not feel we have a suitable work in our gallery stock, we will approach the artist directly or possibly commission a work at your request.

Bernard Canavan is a London-based artist from Co Longford. He emigrated to England in 1959 with his father and worked in the usual unskilled emigrant labouring jobs on construction sites and in factories. He won the Lowes-Dickenson medal and scholarship to Europe followed by a State Mature Scholarship to Ruskin College Oxford 1971-3, where he read for a Diploma in Social Studies, and after that a degree in ‘Politics, Philosophy and Economics’ as Worcester College, Oxford.
Canavan’s paintings are figurative and deal with Irish and emigrant life in the UK in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
He was awarded the Irish Presidential Distinguised Service Award in recognition of his work.
